How to Write a Korean Address on Shipping Forms
Sending a package to South Korea — or entering a Korean delivery address on a foreign website — is straightforward once you map the address onto the standard form fields.

For addresses outside the big metropolitan cities, put the district + city in City
(Suji-gu, Yongin-si) and the province in State (Gyeonggi-do).
Rural addresses include a town suffix (-eup) or township (-myeon)
before the district.
The postal code does the heavy lifting
Korean carriers sort primarily by the 5-digit postal code, and delivery is completed by Korean couriers who read the address natively. Minor romanization differences rarely cause problems as long as the postal code is correct — so verify it. Tips that prevent failed deliveries
- Include the unit number. Most Koreans live in apartment towers; without "101-dong 1203-ho" the package stops at the complex.
- Phone number matters. Korean couriers call or text on arrival. Use the
recipient's Korean mobile with country code:
+82 10-XXXX-XXXX. - Character limits: shorten unit details to
#101-1203if the field is short. - Writing the address in Korean is also fine — if the form accepts it, the Korean version (e.g. 서울특별시 강남구 테헤란로 152) is unambiguous for local delivery. Only the country name must be in English for international transit.
- Some Korean shopping sites and customs forms ask for a personal customs code ("PCC", starts with P) — that belongs in the tax/customs ID field, not the address.
