Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find a Korean postal code?
Type the road name and building number into the search box, romanized (Teheran-ro 152) or in Korean, or browse from the region level. Building names and lot-number addresses (역삼동 737) work in Korean only. Every building page shows the 5-digit postal code with copy buttons.
Is this the current postal code format?
Yes. Korea switched from 6-digit to 5-digit postal codes in August 2015. This site serves only the current 5-digit codes.
Where does the data come from?
The official address database published monthly by the Korean Ministry of the Interior and Safety — the same source used by carriers and government systems. We refresh it every month.
Are the English addresses official?
Yes. They come from the government English address database, using official romanization. You can paste them into visa forms and shipping checkouts as-is.
Why do buildings on the same road have different postal codes?
Postal codes follow zone boundaries, not roads. A long road crosses several zones, so always look up the full address including the building number.
Do you show apartment unit numbers?
We list road-name addresses down to the building number. An apartment complex often shares one address across its blocks, and unit numbers are not published, so add them yourself in front of the address: "101-dong 1203-ho, 152 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul", or on address line 2.
